What this product is

Jasminthco GlassFix is a consumer-grade acrylic resin kit for filling small chips and short cracks in laminated glass. It fills the void left by an impact, bonds to the surrounding glass, and improves how light passes through the damaged area — which makes the damage much less noticeable and removes the air gap where a crack tends to start running.

What this product is not

  • It is not a replacement for professional auto-glass repair or windshield replacement.
  • It does not restore your windshield to factory condition, and it does not restore the structural rating of damaged glass.
  • It will not make damage disappear completely. A treated chip usually remains faintly visible on close inspection.
  • It cannot repair shattered, spider-webbed or fully broken glass, long cracks, or damage that reaches the edge of the windshield.

Results vary

Outcome depends on the type, size, depth and age of the damage, on the temperature and light conditions when you apply it, and on how carefully the steps are followed. Any before-and-after images on this Site illustrate the type of damage the kit is designed for; they are not a promise of the result you will get.

Safety and legal use

  • Do not use on damage in the driver's primary line of sight. Many US states restrict what may be repaired in that area — check your state's vehicle inspection rules, and consult a qualified technician if in doubt.
  • Do not drive the vehicle while the resin is curing.
  • If your windshield is severely damaged, the vehicle may be unsafe to drive. Have it inspected professionally.
  • Contains acrylic resin. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with skin and eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice if irritation persists. Do not swallow. Use in a ventilated area. Wash hands after use.

Insurance

Many US auto policies cover chip repair with no deductible. It is worth calling your insurer before doing a DIY repair — a DIY attempt may affect a later warranty or claim on that particular repair.
